Submitting a tender doesn’t end the process. Many South African organs of state perform post-tender due diligence before issuing the award. If your data doesn’t match, your bid can be disqualified—even after you score highest.
What is post-tender due diligence?
It’s a verification process that confirms your compliance claims are true. The evaluation committee checks your documentation against official databases.
The verification checklist
- Tax status: Confirm your TCC PIN shows “Tax Compliant.” See the SARS tax clearance guide.
- CSD status: Must be active and verified. Review the CSD guide.
- B-BBEE: Certificate or affidavit must be valid and current.
- Banking details: Must match CSD and bank confirmation letter.
- Past performance: References and completion letters should match your submission.
Common red flags that delay awards
- Different director details across CIPC, CSD, and your proposal.
- Expired certificates or conflicting dates.
- Unverifiable reference contacts.
How to prepare before you submit
- Create a verification pack with all compliance documents.
- Check expiration dates at least 30 days before submission.
- Keep your CSD, SARS, and B-BBEE data consistent across all documents.
Compliance failures can be treated as misrepresentation. Avoid risk by reviewing fraud red flags and cleaning up your data.
